Around 25,000 households in south-east Queensland were left lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems passed over the area, bringing wind gusts reaching 109km/h.
Large Hailstones and Extensive Destruction
Homeowners observed large ice chunks measuring up to 7 centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities confirmed that various areas across the state had been impacted by significant hail.

Utility workers were attempting to repair power throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews deployed to address the widespread outages.
Victorian Storm Challenges
Meanwhile, around one thousand residents in the southern state also encountered electricity disruptions after the capital city saw its most precipitation in 18 months.
Emergency response teams handled nearly 600 calls for help across the state, primarily for structural issues but also for downed trees and flooding.

Moist weather were predicted to continue along significant areas of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tuesday was expected to become the most rainy day, with persistent storm activity predicted across different parts of both areas.

Health officials alerted that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
